EAST STROUDSBURG, PA - The West Chester
men's and women's indoor track & field teams each finished in
eighth place at the 2003 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference
Championships.
The two-day event, hosted by East Stroudsburg
University in East Stroudsburg, PA, began on Saturday and wrapped up
on Sunday.
The women were led by Tanya Novik who claimed All-PSAC
honors for taking second place in the high jump. She posted a leap 5
feet, 2 inches. She was also sixth in the 55-meter dash (7.45) and
fifth in the 200m (26.63).
Diamond Jones took fourth for the WCU women in the
55m with her 7.39 time, and she was eighth in the triple jump (35-8).
DANA GLAVIANO set a new school record in the 400m
and took eighth place after posting a 60.18
HEATHER KINNER was fifth in the 800m (2:21.98) and MARY FORRY took
eighth in the 800m (2:26.78). NICOLE JAMES placed sixth in the shot
put 37-8) and VALERIE WESTPHAL was eighth in the 1600m (5:24.51)
The 4X400 of PHAN, KINNER, Allison HEYDT, GLAVIANO
finished seventh (4:11.71), while the 4X800 team of FORRY, KINNER,
HEYDT, Sandra KUSERK took seventh as well (9:53.57).
The distance medley relay team of FORRY, GLAVIANO,
KUSERK, WESTPHAL earned All-PSAC accolades with a time of 12:53.58.
The men's team was led by JASON KILGORE who earned
All-PSAC honors in the 400m (50.79). He also was fifth in the 200m
(22.71)
STEVE WILCHER grabbed fifth in the shot put (45-8),
while the DMR team of Scott SHORTLIDGE, Rick PERRIANDI, Drew SCALLY
and John SARGE grabbed fifth with its 10:50.73
The 4X800 realy team (SCALLY, PERIANDI, SARGE, Ryan
WALTERMYER) finished sixth (8:15.15) and the 4X400 (KILGORE,
WALTERMYER, PERIANDI, Scott COLDEN) also took sixth (3:29.45).
